The Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ), like other universities in Mexico, have implemented different reforms to their pension systems. In this context, the formation of the pension fund for university teachers has played a fundamental role. Through the participation of pension funds, UAQ academics will be able to access the funds they require at the time of their retirement. The objective of the present investigation is to carry out the evaluation of the management of the pension fund of the teaching staff that entered the UAQ before june 15, 2007. To achieve the proposed objective, the pension fund of the UAQ academics was analyzed. using the Sharpe, Treynor and Jensen indices. The information analyzed allows us to observe that there are possibilities to improve the yields of the pension fund. Among the limitations of this study are the issues of temporality of the data and that a more in-depth study is required due to the effects that COVID 19 pandemic had on the fund´s returns.
