Are Mexico's exports concentrated? A comparative analysis with Canada's exports
Main Article Content
Diversification is fundamental to economic development. Mature industrialized economies tend to produce a wide range of goods and services; developing countries, on the other hand, have a presence in only a limited number of economic activities. Accordingly, their exports are concentrated in a few products. Thus, one manifestation of the diversification of their productive structure is the diversification of exports. The objective of this paper is to analyze the exports of Mexico and Canada, to review some of the indicators of export concentration to determine whether or not progress has been made in export diversification and based on these indexes, to carry out a comparative analysis with Canadian exports.
