Abstract

The configuration of social realities based on the development of information and communication technologies has created new social inequalities that are exacerbated by the information asymmetry that is present to a greater extent among the vulnerable population such as the elderly population who face a lack of understanding of communication devices and their various forms of interaction with electronic applications. Hence, this work seeks to reflect on the meaning of information, information asymmetry and some difficulties that the elderly face in their daily lives when they are unable to use communication devices to carry out commercial transactions, services, financial services and various government applications.
