Human development and economic growth and in the metropolitan municipalities of the valley of Mexico

The present work aims to measure the impact of human development on the economic growth of the 59 metropolitan municipalities of the State of Mexico, which border Mexico City (CDMX), and are part of the Metropolitan Zone of the Valle de México Mexico (ZMVM).
Human development is analyzed with the Human Development Index (HDI) and economic growth, through the Municipal Gross Domestic Product (PIBM). The methodology used is a panel data analysis also called longitudinal, because it takes advantage of the cross-sectional and temporal variability of the data in its two analysis models, fixed effects and random effects, considering that only data are available 2000, 2005 and 2010 for HDI, poverty indicators, inequality indicator and PIBM estimated by municipally weighted state GDP.
The results express that municipal economic growth is directly related to educational progress and income level. In addition, an increase in the production of goods and services has a positive influence on human development and has a positive effect on improving the living conditions of the population. If the HDI increases by one unit of value, the production of goods and services will also increase, due to the better performance of the population's capacities considering they have health, education and a better level of income.
